Summary
Johnny Dollar investigates the suspicious disappearance of insurance client Bartley Harmon at a snowy mountain lodge. Although Harmon’s body is found with no external marks, a lipstick-stained cigarette butt and footprints initially implicate his beautiful, athletic wife, Nora. However, Dollar notices that the cigarette was dropped on snow, not crushed out, revealing that the evidence was planted by Harmon’s jealous business partner, Elmer Wrightson. Wrightson is exposed after he tries to frame Nora by wearing her snow boots, leading to his confession and the case’s resolution.
