Summary
Texas Ranger Jace Pearson investigates the murder of salesman Roger Bradley, who was killed by a hitchhiker on a Texas highway. Clues from the victim's stolen clothes lead Pearson to a ranch hand who purchased the duds from the killer, Lenny Tripper. Pearson tracks Tripper to an abandoned mine on Apache Peak, where he is hiding with his family's help. After a tense standoff, Pearson captures Tripper, who is later convicted and sentenced to death for the crime.
