Three Knocks
Summary
A 1901 medium is lured to a Cambridge home by a grieving widow, only to discover the family has summoned a demon and trapped him to serve as its vessel. Recalling a past encounter where he expelled a possessing entity, he realizes his unique immunity allows him to host the demon temporarily. He manipulates the women into believing the ritual succeeded, commanding them to shoot each other to eliminate the summoners. After expelling the demon, he leaves the house, hoping the entity fades away while he watches the investigating police for signs of possession.
