Summary
In 1924, Joy helps her pregnant friend Evelyn escape a demonic hotel owner by having her take Joy's place, resulting in Evelyn’s forced, accelerated birth of twins before she is dragged into a portal. Joy escapes with the babies, raising one as her own daughter, Evelyn. Decades later, this Evelyn meets Miles, whose twin brother Thomas shares the surname of the original Evelyn, hinting that the supernatural curse and fate continue to entangle their families.
