Lot 144 : Neighbors
Summary
A couple moves into a suburban home next to a seemingly perfect family with many children. Strange occurrences, including a cryptic note and a vivid nightmare of the husband’s death, escalate as the neighbor’s behavior grows increasingly erratic and grotesque. The neighbor eventually dies by suicide, revealing the house was actually empty and abandoned. The narrator remains traumatized, suspecting her husband has been replaced and fearing she is pregnant.
