Confronting The Creator Of Omarchy | DHH
Summary
DHH discusses his new Linux distribution, Omachi, which combines Arch Linux with the Hyperland tiling window manager to create a "perfect computer" for mainstream users. He argues that tiling interfaces are superior to traditional desktops and leverages AI agents to rapidly develop the system's core components, including the Quick Shell interface. The episode covers the project's $10 million funding, its focus on beauty and productivity, and DHH's vision for liberating users from Windows and macOS through a highly opinionated, open-source ecosystem.
