Summary
Jack wakes up in a sweltering psychiatric ward in Broken Toe, Arizona, where he meets Skeeter, a young patient who claims demons have taken over the town. Recalling how he and his friends were separated after accepting a ride from a suspicious ice cream truck, Jack realizes the staff has been replaced and the heat is lethal. After repairing a stolen walkie-talkie with jury-rigged batteries, he ambushes a demon guard to escape. Realizing he cannot save everyone alone, Jack decides to stay behind to rescue the remaining patients rather than fleeing.
