History Today - Oct. 7
Summary
This episode reviews four historical events: the 2023 Israel-Hamas war’s opening attacks, the 1985 hijacking of the Achille Lauro, the 1780 Battle of Kings Mountain, and a 1916 college football record. The host details the deadly Hamas assault and subsequent siege, the Palestinian Liberation Front’s hostage crisis aboard the Italian cruise ship, and how the Overmountain Men’s victory at Kings Mountain turned the tide of the American Revolution. Finally, the segment recounts Georgia Tech’s 222-0 shutout of Cumberland College, the most lopsided game in college football history.
