Summary
In this Gunsmoke episode, U.S. Marshal Matt Dillon confronts Ken Creed, a fast-talking gunman who kills a man in self-defense and taunts Dillon to prove his worth. Despite Creed’s provocations and the town’s fear, Dillon refuses to engage in a personal duel, insisting he enforces the law rather than builds a reputation. Creed eventually attacks an innocent bystander, prompting Dillon to pursue him, but a drunken bystander named Chuck Carter shoots Creed in the back before Dillon can confront him.
