The Indie Sleaze Draft with Rob Mahoney and Sean Fennessey
Summary
Host Yasi Sonic and guests Shaan Fenasy and Robert Mahoney define "indie sleaze" as a lifestyle subculture rather than a strict genre, exploring its roots in early 2000s New York. They discuss the era's fusion of rock and dance music, the role of blogs and party photography, and the cultural shift from "hipster" to "indie sleaze." The episode concludes with a draft of the best bands, frontpersons, and songs, highlighting The Strokes, Carleen O, and The Rapture.
